Sci-Fi Channel Southern Africa
SCI-FI SOUTHERN AFRICA (SCIFISA) was a sister-channel of the satellite and cable station Sci-Fi Channel Europe. Based out of South Africa, SCIFISA had much of the same content as its UK counterpart, but it was a separate feed with its own scheduled programming.
The full extent of its coverage area is unknown, but based on available listings information, its farthest reach north-east was to Mozambique. (Geographically, the other countries that could be classed as being in the southern region of Africa would include Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia, and Zimbabwe.)
The station was available on Channel 39 of the South African-based DStv platform (launched on 6 October 1995), and on Canal 21 in Mozambique.
Sci-Fi Southern Africa was closed down on 1 July 2004.
