- Doctor Who had been running on WFYI for many years, but the series came to an end with Tom Baker's final story on 1 September 1996. WTBU picks up the series at that point, commencing with the Peter Davison stories.
- 6 October 1996: The TV movie airs as a prelude to the series due to start the following month. This is one of the few non-Fox affiliate screenings of the TV Movie in the USA.
- 10 November 1996: The series proper begins with Earthshock.
- 23 February 1997: Colin Baker begins.
- 11 May 1997: The Sylvester McCoy stories air.
- 10 August 1997: Jon Pertwee begins.
- 18 January 1998: Tom Baker finally(!) airs on WTBU.
- 1 November 1998: Peter Davison returns.
- 29 November 1998: The channel stopped showing Doctor Who.
